John W. Runkle was a member of the 3rd Battalion, 135th Infantry, 34th Division, Medical Detachment.

Archival History

The signet ring was donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 1992 by Dr. Naomi D. Perrin, the daughter of John W. Runkle.

Acquisition

United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Collection, Gift of Naomi Perrin. In memory of Sgt. John W. Runkle, medic in the U.S. Army, WWII, who fought to save lives rather than to take them.
