Acquisition

United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Collection, Gift of Robin Granat

Donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2018 by Robin Granat. She received these materials from her childhood friend Norma Lodge who had found these items in her family's home. The house had been purchased by her grandfather in 1961 from Barbara Phillips Willis, sister of Marion Phillips.

Scope and Content

Contains papers and ephemera related to a trip to Europe by Marion Phillips of Pawtucket, RI, in the summer of 1936, including materials related to the Berlin Olympics. Includes a ticket to the Olympic swimming competition on August11, 1936; a booklet, brochure, and ticket to the Richard Wagner Festspiele für Olympiade Berlin at the Deutsches Operahaus, Berlin; and souvenir brochures, tickets, and ephemera from Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, and Heidelberg.
