Acquisition

Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.

Source of acquisition is the Archiwum Państwowe w Kielcach, Poland, Sygn. 100. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the filmed collection via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum International Archival Programs Division in December 2017, and accretion in Sept. 2018.

Scope and Content

Reports of the voivode and starosts, statistics of population, and census, materials regarding the parliamentary and senate elections, political parties, associations, clubs, societies and organizations (including their censuses and statutes), security of the region, a register and records of industrial plants, materials concerning the Communist Workers' Party of Poland (KPRP), and a large number of records of Jewish religious communities throughout the voivodship: elections of rabbis and examinations of rabbinical candidates, budgets and property matters of Jewish communes, election of authorities, political affiliation, emigration, lists of members, fees for ritual slaughter, synagogues, houses of prayer, cemeteries, and many others.

Arranged in three series: 1. Various reports and statistics on population, activities of organizations and associations in the region; 2. Various reports and statistics related to affairs of Jewish communes: Będzin, Częstochowa, Kielce, Chęciny, Kozienice, Zwoleń, Miechów, Olkusz, Opatów, Radom, Staszów, Sandomierz, Dąbrowa Górnicza, Wodzisław, Jędrzejów, Skrażysko-Kamienna, Szczekociny, and other locations; 3. Personnel files of the region officials, doctors, engineers, 1920-1939.
