Founded in 1948, the Cultur Congres, also known as the Confederación Pro Cultura Judía, was a federation of 50 Jewish institutions in the field of education and culture.

Archival History

Yiṿo in Argenṭine

Acquisition

Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.

Source of acquisition is the Yiṿo in Argenṭine (Fundación IWO). The original records were acquired by the Fundación IWO after the disbandment of the Congress for Jewish Culture in 2001. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the filmed collection via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum International Archival Programs Division in Oct. 2017

Scope and Content

The collection consists of institutional records of the Confederación Pro Cultura Judía. Records relate to the arrival of survivor artists, cultural activities and publishing projects of survivors, as well as photographs, newspaper clippings, and organizational records.
