Acquisition

Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.

Source of acquisition is the Archiwum Państwowe w Kielcach, Poland, Sygn. 2369. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the digitized collection via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum International Archival Programs Division in April 2017. This is a cooperative project based on the agreement between USHMM and Yad Vashem, Israel.

Scope and Content

Minutes of the Municipal Council sessions of 1920-1950, books of permanent inhabitants containing detailed information about individuals, a register of estates, lists of artisans and merchants, town statistics of 1931-1947 (data about the town and its dwellers), extracts of register acts, 1866-1950 (File 81), post-war correspondence concerning abandoned property, registry of Jews, including family members (files 129-504). Almost all records of the town Działoszyce that survived from the pre-war period relate to the Jewish community. Before 1939, the Jewish population constituted almost 90% of the total population of the town of Działoszyce.

City statistics, records for the years 1931, 1935-1937, 1942, 1946-1947 (population, municipal management, owners of water reservoirs, nurses and other medical staff); 3. Vital records, 1866-1950 (birth certificate and marriage certificate); 4. Books and appendices to census of the permanent population in the city of Dzialoszyce; 5. Books of traffic control of population, 1931-1951; 6. Correspondence of civil status of former Jewish inhabitants of Działoszyce, 1938; 7. List of craftsmen and merchants, 1928-1939; 8. Register of real estates, 1932; 9. Correspondence relating to abandoned properties, 1947; 10. Vital records and other documents needed for registration of Jewish inhabitants of the city of Działoszyce, 1836-1942 (Organized alphabetically).
