Acquisition

Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.

Source of acquisition is the Archiwum Państwowe w Warszawie Oddział w Grodzisku Mazowieckim, Poland, Sygn. 1637. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the filmed collection via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum International Archival Programs Division in Nov. 2016.

Scope and Content

Minutes of sessions of the Municipal Government of Rawa Mazowiecka, Poland, from the period immediately following World War II. Includes lists of war damages, statistics related to the town from 1945, matters related to synagogue and Jewish graveyards, matters of exhumation of bodies, lists of war graves, various certificates related to the estates, a list and administration of abandoned property in the area of Rawa Mazowiecka, and issues related to the provision of help to the war victims.

Arranged in three series: 1. Minutes of meetings of the City Council of Rawa Mazowiecka, 1945-1950; 2. Destruction and war damages -lists and statistics of the destroyed objects; 3. Applications for support and welfare of people affected by war.
