Biographical History
The Katz Ehrenthal Collection is a collection of more than 900 objects depicting Jews and antisemitic and anti-Jewish propaganda from the medieval to the modern era, in Europe, Russia, and the United States. The collection was amassed by Peter Ehrenthal, a Romanian Holocaust survivor, to document the pervasive history of anti-Jewish hatred in Western art, politics and popular culture. It includes crude folk art as well as pieces created by Europe's finest craftsmen, prints and periodical illustrations, posters, paintings, decorative art, and toys and everyday household items decorated with depictions of stereotypical Jewish figures.
Archival History
The game was donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2016 by the Katz Family.

Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
Photomechanical color print of an offwhite gameboard with a coiled oval track of 62 numbered boxes leading to 63, The Wandering Jew in Paris. He is depicted as an old, barefoot Jewish man with a long, white beard and hair in loose traveling clothes, holding a walking stick. Each box has an Arabic numeral above a colorful, French captioned image of a character, place, or animal from Eugene Sue’s 1844 novel, Le Juif Errant [The Wandering Jew.] Characters include Dagobert, Rose, Blanche, Gabriel, Prince Djalma, and Adrienne and the Jew is shown in different locales. In the center are the title and a block of Dutch text explaining the game. The corners of the poster outside the gameboard have vignettes of the author and of several characters. The poster is adhered to slightly larger linen backing.
