Biographical History
The Katz Ehrenthal Collection is a collection of more than 900 objects depicting Jews and antisemitic and anti-Jewish propaganda from the medieval to the modern era, in Europe, Russia, and the United States. The collection was amassed by Peter Ehrenthal, a Romanian Holocaust survivor, to document the pervasive history of anti-Jewish hatred in Western art, politics and popular culture. It includes crude folk art as well as pieces created by Europe's finest craftsmen, prints and periodical illustrations, posters, paintings, decorative art, and toys and everyday household items decorated with depictions of stereotypical Jewish figures.

Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
Double sided woodcut in black ink removed from a periodical. On one side it depicts a group of huddled people surrounded by crates in front of 8 Christian men framed by a large stone archway. From left to right: a man pushing against a fallen door, an armed soldier, a nobleman holding a scroll, a boy holding up a crucifix, a hooded priest, another priest, a hunchback, and an armored guard lifting a trunk. Centered below them, a bearded man with sidelocks and a black skullcap sits on crates, his face in right profile. He supports an unconscious, curly haired, young woman while a seated woman leans against him with her eyes closed, a half-naked baby in her lap. Two more people lie on their sides on the ground, one at her feet and another, a balding man, to the right, behind a trap door. His right arm is raised over his upturned face, his left hand holding a bag of coins that has spilled. They have stereotypical Jewish features: thick eyebrows, a large nose, and fleshy lips. German text is printed below the image. On the back, there are 2 columns of German text. The edges are torn.
