Biographical History

Norbert Krasnosielski (1918-2013) was born in Nikopol, Ukraine. He grew up in Nesvizh, Poland (now Niasvizh, Belarus), and lived in Vilna during the 1930s. He joined the Russian Army after Western Poland came under Russian occupation, and later fought with the Polish Army. He was in St. Petersburg during the siege of Leningrad, and occupied Berlin during the end of the war.

United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Collection, Gift of Norbert Krasnosielski

Given to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2009 by Norbert Krasnosielski. Mr. Krasnosielski passed away in 2013, and the donation was completed by his grandson Allen Posacki in 2016.

Collection of photographs documenting Norbert Krasnosielski and his experiences while serving with the Polish Army and Russian Army during WWII.
