Scope and Content
“Major Milton Evans Dowse: World War II Experiences” was compiled by David Paul Dowse in 2014. The document consists of a transcript of an interview that David Dowse conducted with Major Milton Evans Dowse in 1984 regarding his experiences and photocopied documents that provide additional context. Major Dowse was involved in the D-Day invasion of Normandy as a member of the United States Army and was a prisoner of war in Oflag 64 before escaping to join the Russian front as it advanced toward Berlin.
