Acquisition

Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.

Source of acquisition is the Archiwum Państwowe w Kielcach, Poland, Sygn. 126. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the digitized collection via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum International Archival Programs Division in Jan. 2016. This is a cooperative project based on the agreement between USHMM and Yad Vashem, Israel.

Scope and Content

Files of the communal office of Bodzentyn with information about Jews living in the commune. Included are licenses to run industries, lists of landlords (estates and lands), documents related to election to the communal council, tax rates, shares to the firefighting fund, registers of the Bodzentyn region and indexes to the population ledgers, as well as a book of communal resolutions (1910-1938) and a list of births, marriages and death in the synagogue district of Bodzentyn (1923).

System of Arrangement

Arranged in five series: 1.Taxes in municipalities, the resolutions of municipal meetings and municipal council, 1926-1930; 2.The minutes of the revision of the economic and accounting in Bodzentyn and the reports on the implementation of recommendations, 1932-1933; 3. A list of land owners taxable in the municipality Bodzentyn in 1920; 4. Registers of villagers Bodzentyn 1810-1945; 5.The lists are births, marriages and dead in parishes: Bodzentyn, Debno,Tarczek and Wzdół Rządowy, and synagogue district of Bodzentyn, 1923.
