Biographical History

The County Command of the State Police in Kielce was established in June 1919 and supervised the communal police stations in the following towns: Dąbrowa, Białogon, Bieliny, Bodzentyn, Chęciny, Daleszyce, Łopuszno, Morawica, Niewachlów, Mniów, Piekoszków, Samsonów, Słupia Nowa and Suchedniów. The County Commander wielded disciplinary power over the officers, coordinated the operations of the police, organized training and provided weapons.

Acquisition

Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.

Source of acquisition is the Archiwum Państwowe w Kielcach, Poland, Sygn. 112. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the digitized collection via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum International Archival Programs Division in Jan. 2016. This is a cooperative project based on the agreement between USHMM and Yad Vashem, Israel.

Scope and Content

Police orders, circulars, various reports and investigative protocols, registers of the political organizations, social and sporting events. Included are records related to Jewish organizations, Jewish trade unions, and situation of the political and criminal prisoners.

Police reports, 1920-1936; 7. Police reports prepared for the governor of the district in Kielce, 1930-1938; 8. Reports on the political situation and the security of the state, 1936-1938; 9. Police reports on the activities of political organizations, 1920-1938; 10. Revolts and starvation of prisoners 1929; 11. Denunciations on political activists, and investigative protocols, 1931-1939.
