Biographical History
Mala had six siblings, but only her oldest sister Sabina survived the Holocaust. Malka was imprisoned in Lyceum camp near Sandomierz from October 1942 until April 1943. She was transferred to ammunition factory in Starachowice and in July 1944 she was taken to Auschwitz, where she was tattooed with prisoner number 14368. Mala was reunited with her older sister Sabina in Birkenau camp; In January 1945 Mala was transferred to Ravensbrück and a month later to Malchow and from there in April 1945 to Leipzig Hasag. In July 1946 a cousin took Mala to the Bergen Belsen DP camp, where she could finally go to school. In July 1947 she came to Palestine with Youth Aliyah and in 1948 she graduated with honors from Hadassah nursing school. Later she studied nursing in the US and became head operating room nurse. Malka Nomberg is a mother of Zvi and Yair and a grandmother of seven.

Contains a "Certificate of Integrity," based on a background check, issued by the Israeli Police to Malka Weissrozen (donor) for the purpose of issue of US visa; dated April 1955; a photograph depicting Malka on a motorcycle in the Bergen Belsen DP camp, dated: June 28, 1946; an identification photograph, c. 1954, for Mala Malka Bella Wajsrozen b. 12/18/1930 in Sandomierz, Poland, daughter of Cwi Hersch Wajsrozen, b. 1887 and Chana Tuchman Wajsrozen.
