Scope and Content
Portfolio, Grosse Deutsch Kunstaustellung 1943, containing color letterpress reproduction prints of fifteen paintings and four sculptures from the Great German Art Exhibition, 1943, in the House of German Art in Munich, Germany. This exhibition and this portfolio present works of ideal German Art approved by the Nazi Party and government. Similar sets were displayed and published yearly. This portfolio originally contained 16 prints of paintings. This set is missing the print of a work by Stahl.

[4] p., 19 leaves of plates : color ill. ; 51 x 41 cm. Selected reproductions from the major official exhibition of works of art produced under policies approved by German National Socialism. Battle scenes, traditional genre, neo-classicism. In portfolio accompanied with printed content list. Paintings are reproduced in color. Contains reproductions of works by Max Clarenbach, Elmar Dietz, Heinrich Faltenmeier, Sepp Hilz, Willy Kriegel, Heinrich Liesegang, Rudolf Lipus, Anton Lutz, Julius Mahainz, Anton Müller-Wischin, Andreas Patzel, Hans Schachinger, Friedrich Schutz, Hans-Albert Simon-Schaefer, Ferdinand Spiegel, Franz Xaver Stahl, Josef Strahn, Josef Thorak, Robert Ullmann and Adolf Wissel. This set is missing the print of a work by Stahl.
