Biographical History

William Horn was born Wolf Horn in Radom, Poland, to Cheil Shai-ya and Shein-del Ethel Horn. He had five siblings and his father was a Hebrew teacher. He was a forced-laborer in several work camps and was deported to Auschwitz II-Birkenau in July 1943. In February 1945 he was sent to Dachau where he was liberated. In 1946 he immigrated to the United States. His brother was the only other surviving member of his immediate family.

Acquisition

In Sep. 2003, William Kurstin, trustee of Hilda Horn Estate donated a copy of William Horn's memoir to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of a personal narrative by William Horn regarding the persecution of the Jews of Radom, Poland.
