Leon Litow, PhD, donated his father's memoir to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum on Dec. 15, 2003.
Scope and Content
Consists of a memoir, "The Eyes of Jewish Resistance," 71 pages, by Litman Litow, compiled by Leon Litow. The memoir recounts the childhood of Litman Litow in Visheva, Belorussia, his experiences on the run and in hiding from the Nazis, and his subsequent years as one of the leaders of a Jewish partisan unit. It also describes his experiences in Russia after the war, emigration to Italy and then to the United States, and reflections on Holocaust commemorations. The memoir contains black and white photocopies of family photographs. The collection also contains a copy of the memoir on a CD-RW disc.
