Biographical History

Rosalie Avery and her brother Marvin Avery are the children Sima Rosen Avery, who was born in Staszów, Poland circa 1901 to Meir and Pessah Rozen. She immigrated to Canada in October 1929.

Marvin Avery donated Kvutsat Chizek -- Book of Meetings Hashomer Hazaier, Ken Staszov, Poland to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2006. Marvin Avery is the brother of Rosalie Avery and the son of Sima Rosen Avery.

Scope and Content

Consists of a photocopy of a booklet assembled by Rosalie Avery documenting the participation of her mother, Sima Rosen Avery, in the Hashomer Hatzair group in Staszow, Poland in 1928-1929. The booklet includes a photograph of young women, a map of Poland, a list of members, and English translations of recorded descriptions of meetings.
