United States Holocaust Memorial Museum

Acquisition

Martin Forstenzer donated these photographs to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum on Oct. 3, 2005. He served in the United States Army between 1942 and 1946 and brought these photographs back from Europe.

Scope and Content

Consists of nine photographs from a photograph album used as evidence in the Nuremberg war crimes trials. The photographs depict the German liquidation of the Warsaw ghetto. Also contains one large photograph of soldiers working inside a mass grave.
