Biographical History

Israel Sjouwerman was deported to Mechelen Malines transit camp near Brussels, Belgium, in 1942. On September 12, 1942, he was deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp where upon arrival on September 14 1942, all but 45 men on the convoy were gassed.
