United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Collection, Gift of Peter J. and Machelle M. Moosey. In memory of PFC Joseph P. Moosey, 244th Field Arty Bn, 12th Corp, 3rd US Army.

The photograph was created by Joseph P. Moosey donor's father and was given to Peter Moosey from his mother after his father's death. The collection was donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum by Peter Moosey in 1998.

Scope and Content

The photograph was taken at the liberation of a concentration camp, possibly Ohrdruf or Buchenwald, and depicts a large group of corpses stacked against the wall of a brick building.
