Acquisition

Rebos Markusz sent the material to her step-daughter, Julia Stern donor's mother in June 1941, and it was received in Mar. 1946. Alex Stern donated the material to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 1994.

Scope and Content

The envelope is addressed to Mrs. Martin Stern in Lansdale, Pa., from her stepmother, Rebos Markusz, in Hungary. Three Hungarian stamps are adhered as well as two censor labels. The envelope also bears the stamp of the British censor.
