Acquisition

The photograph was smuggled out of the labor camp in Erday, Hungary. Mrs. Jacob (Betty) Goldner donated it to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 1990.

Scope and Content

The photograph depicts a Hungarian Jewish labor brigade working in Erday, Hungary, building a runway. The donor's brother, Gyula Roth/Rauth, age 32, is in the photograph.
