Acquisition

Marshall Fritz donated these photographs for his mother, Sophie Fritz, to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives on Dec. 22, 2003. Sophie Fritz inherited them from her father , Morris Needleman, who obtained them from the family members photographed. Please also see 1999.222.1, the Reuven and Slava Bronshtein collection. Slava is the daughter of Yeva Cygelman Bershadsky, and Yeva, Sonja, and Liza Cygelman were Sophie Fritz's first cousins.

Scope and Content

Contains photographs: one of three sisters, described as "Yeva, Sonja, and Liza," and one of three women and an elderly man, described as "Slova Nudelman and third husband, Sonja Cygelman Tzigelman and Rachel Nudelman Cygelman. This photograph has three generations in it, as Rachel is Slova's daughter and Sonja's mother. Only Yeva and Liza survived the war.
