Biographical History
Elsa Gutter Deutsch, along with her husband, Adolf Erich Deutsch, and their daughter, Vera Irena, were deported to Theresienstadt. On September 9, 1943, they were deported to Auschwitz and were murdered upon arrival. Grete Gutter Knoblich survived Theresienstadt. Jean Gutter immigrated to Palestine in 1933.

The papers were donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2003 by Melissa Cutter.
Scope and Content
The papers consist of 20 documents relating to Elsa Gutter Deutsch and Grete Gutter Knoblich, Melissa Cutter's paternal aunts, and two photographs of Jean Gutter, Melissa Cutter's father.
