Acquisition

Source of acquisition is the Archivio di Stato di Milano (State Archives of Milan), Italy. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the filmed collection via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum International Archives Project Division in 2003.

Scope and Content

Contains a variety of documents on the Jews of Milan, including residence permits, the 1938 census of Jews, questionnaires for determination of “race,” and applications for exemption from the “race law” of 1938.
