Acquisition
Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.
Source of acquisition is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Service of Diplomatic & Historical Archives (Hypourgeio Exōterikōn). The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the filmed collection via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum International Archives Project in Aug. 2002, in May 2012, and a final accretion in Sept. 2019.
Scope and Content
The collection primarily consists of correspondence between the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other agencies of the Greek government and with foreign governments and people living outside Greece. The correspondence concerns establishing the whereabouts of family members, reparations issues, immigration issues, and other concerns of Greek Jews living in Greece and abroad.
