The buttons were donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2002 by Ewa Dziegielewska on behalf of Estera Horn.

Scope and Content
The buttons were originally attached to Estera Horn's coat. Leokadia Wojtkiewicz, one of Estera's rescuers, removed the buttons while explaining to Estera that she had to do so for safety reasons because "all Jewish children have buttons like these."
