Biographical History

Edwin Bader was a Jewish physician in Vienna, Austria. In 1938 he fled the Nazis to England with his wife and their daughter, Dorit (later Dorit B. Whiteman). The Bader family immigrated to the United States in 1941.

Acquisition

Dorit Whiteman donated her father Edwin Bader's papers to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2002.

Contains a university enrollment record (Meldungsbuch) issued in 1938 in Vienna, Austria, to Edwin Bader as a replacement for the original issued in 1910-1915, along with a photocopy of a note about proper behavior handed out to newly arrived refugees in England in 1938.
