United States Holocaust Memorial Museum

Acquisition

The collection was donated by Dr. Desider Galsky, the former Director of the Federation of Jewish Communities in the Czech Republic. Before the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum could secure a donor agreement, Dr.Galsky, Mr. Holzer, and Mrs. Holzer all died. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum does not have a donor agreement.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of the memoirs of the fire brigade commander in Terezin concentration camp with accompanying photos. The collection details the experiences of Leo Holzer, a fire brigade commander in Terezin (Theresienstadt), from the period 1941-1945
