Acquisition

Source of acquisition is the Instytut Pamięci Narodowej-Komisja Ścigania Zbrodni przeciwko Narodowi Polskiemu (IPN), Warsaw, Poland, Sygn.188. Records created by the the Kreishauptmann Zamość office, in 1940 to 1944.

Scope and Content

Contains financial and administrative documents from the Kreishauptamt Zamość, Finanzkasse relating to confiscated food and fines leveled against Jews in the Zamość area; guidelines for regulation of non-German labor; reports on evacuation and relocation of Poles and Ukrainians; lists of families and camp inmates released for labor from the Arbeitsamt Zamość; and provisions for police and prisoners from the Amt für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft.

Arranged in three series chronologically: 1. Kreishauptmann Zamość Finanzkasse records; 2. Arbeitsamt Zamość records; 3 . Records from the Amt für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft. Records are arranged in the original order of their acquisition from the source archive. The museum has acquired only selected records from Institute of National Remembrance (Instytut Pamięci Narodowej-Komisja Ścigania Zbrodni przeciwko Narodowi Polskiemu, or IPN).
