Biographical History

Lore E. Cohn (née Cohen) was born in Essen, Germany, in 1925 to Albert and Hedwig Cohen. In 1939, she and her brother, Werner, immigrated to England. They moved to the United States in 1946.

Acquisition

The testimonial of Albert and Hedwig Cohen was written in German by Günter Schmitz on an unknown date. In Mar. 1991, it was translated by Lore E. Cohn. In Aug. 1994, Cohn donated a copy of the testimonials to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives.

Scope and Content

Günter Schmitz's memorialization and Lore E. Cohn's translation describing the Holocaust-related experiences and deaths of Cohn's parents, Albert and Hedwig Cohen.
