Biographical History

Heinz Bauer was born in Austria to Jewish parents, and he was a student at the University of Vienna during the Anschluss. After the Nazi seizure of power, Bauer and his family immigrated to Kenya via Paris and London. He later immigrated to the United States.

The memoir was written by Heinz Bauer in 1940. Bauer gave a copy of the memoir to the USHRIA in early 1994.
