Acquisition

Source of acquisition is the Instytut Pamięci Narodowej-Komisja Ścigania Zbrodni przeciwko Narodowi Polskiemu (Institute of National Remembrance-Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes against the Polish Nation), Sygn.163. Deposited to the Instytut Pamięci Narodowej from the various Polish courts. United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives acquired microfilm copies of selected files in 1991. The Archives received the microfilm in April 1992.

Scope and Content

This collection contains questionnaires distributed by various Polish courts to districts and provinces and to municipal authorities near the sites of concentration camps and ghettos in Poland. The questionnaires request information about mass executions and mass graves.

This collection is arranged thematically. Records are arranged in the original order of their acquisition from the source archive. The museum has acquired only selected records from Institute of National Remembrance (Instytut Pamięci Narodowej-Komisja Ścigania Zbrodni przeciwko Narodowi Polskiemu, or IPN).
