"We will never die" script
Ben Hecht was a well-known screenwriter and a Zionist activist who was known for his support of the creation of a Jewish Army in Europe.
A copy of the script was made and given to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in July 1992 by Bret Werb, who had obtained his copy from the Billy Rose Theatre Collection at the New York Public Library. Werb does not know whether the copy in the Rose Collection came from Kurt Weill, who wrote the musical score to the play; Weill's name appears on the cover page.
"We will never die" script is a photocopy of a script for the play "We Will Never Die," written by Ben Hecht and performed at various locations across the United States in 1943 to raise awareness of atrocities being committed against Jews in German-occupied Europe. Handwritten annotations may be from Kurt Weill, whose name appears on the title page.
The "We will never die" script is arranged in a single series.
