Acquisition

The donor collected the originals of the materials from his personal correspondence and additional unknown sources. He made photocopies available to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Oral History Department, apparently in 1992, and that department passed them on to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives ca. July 1992, presumably retaining copies in its own departmental files.

Scope and Content

Contains information about Miklos Szalay and the role he and his family played in hiding and protecting a downed Jewish-American airman and a Jewish escapee from a labor camp in Hungary during the Holocaust.
