Janusz Schwieger was a doctor from Lwow, Poland, (Lʹviv, Ukraine) who was incarcerated in Bergen-Belsen.

Acquisition

On 15 Aug. 1945, Janusz Schwieger in France wrote a letter to Leopold Infeld, a first cousin of the donor's father, Bernard Infield. Ms. Goldberg donated a copy to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in June 1992.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of a 15 August 1945 letter from Janusz Schwieger in France to Leopold Infeld. The letter regards persecution, deportation, and conditions of Polish Jews and their families (Infeld, Schwieger, and others) in 1943 at Bergen-Belsen concentration camp and to transports being sent to Auschwitz from Bergen-Belsen.
