Martina Baudis was born in East Berlin, East Germany in 1954. She married a Mr. Mansfeld, and she currently lives in Berlin, Germany

Acquisition

The memoir was written by Martina Baudis in 1968. Her mother, Helga Baudis, left a copy with Hilda Thieberger, a member of a Jewish family currently living in Maryland, whom the Baudis family had hid in Nazi Germany. Hilda Thieberger gave the memoir to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum on 12 May 1993.

Scope and Content

Martina Baudis' memoir describes why she felt the Nazis wanted to exterminate Jews and the result of Nazi racial policies.
