Archival History

United States Holocaust Memorial Museum

Acquisition

The donor obtained the materials in this collection from a variety of sources: the photos and negatives are from a source unknown to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, as is the photograph of a prison document, originated by the Ministerul Afacerilor Interne. The photocopy of printed pages derives from a book by Matatias Carp. Radu Ioanid of the Museum staff originally routed the material to the Collections and Acquisitions Department, which turned it over to the Archive via intramural transfer in Aug. 1991.

Scope and Content

Relates to the death of Teodor Gerber, a Jewish youth who was killed by the Iron Guard in Bucharest in 1940, and his brother Josif, who was imprisoned on grounds of Communist connections.
