Biographical History
Joseph Isador Lieberman was born on 24 February 1942 in Stamford, Connecticut. He served as a United States Senator representing Connecticut from 1989 to 2013, and during this time he chaired the Senate Committee on Homeland Security (2007-2013), and was a vice-presidential candidate, as running mate to Vice President Al Gore during the presidential election of 2000. A graduate of Yale University and Yale Law School, he was elected to the Connecticut Senate in 1970 and also served as that state's Attorney General from 1983 to 1989.
