The flag was donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2014 by Tara Barenok, the great-niece of David F. Busch.

The flag, possibly from the liberation of Plzen, was retreived by PFC David F. Busch, an American soldier who was stationed in Europe during WWII.
