Acquisition

Source of acquisition is the Bibliothèque de Documentation International Contemporaine (BDIC), France. In June 2007, Comité inter-mouvements auprès des évacués (La Cimade) entrusted a major part of its historical archives to the BDIC, which has been responsible for conserving the documents and making their existence known in national data bases. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the collection from the BDIC via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s International Archives Project in March 2013.

Scope and Content

This collection contains selected records of the Comité inter-mouvements auprès des évacués (La Cimade) (Inter-movement Committee for Assistance to Refugees) related to rescue of Jewish refugees in France.

System of Arrangement

Records are selected from the following sections and duplicated in an original order: Section I, Secrétariat Général: carton F delta 2149/1072, and carton F delta 2149/1073; Section V, Enfermement: cartons 1 à 7; Section 7, Implantations Locales: carton 11, and carton 12.
