From the Żydowski Instytut Historyczny im. Emanuela Ringelbluma (ŻIH), Sygn.105. In March 1938, a Gestapo commission of the offices of racial and political matters, headed by Dr. Fritz Arlt, decided to confiscate the archives of the Gmina Żydowska we Wrocławiu (Synagogen Gemeinde zu Breslau). The offices of the community board were finally closed in Nov. 1938. Part of the archives survived, probably due to the Nazi instruction/directive of collecting data for the Reichssicherheitshauptamt, RSHA (Reich Main Security Office), or the Institut zur Erforschung der Judenfrage (Studies on the Jewish Question). In 1947 the files, hidden in the premises of the graveyard administration in Wrocław, were taken over and transferred to the Żydowski Instytut Historyczny (Jewish Historical Institue). The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the collection from the Żydowski Instytut Historyczny via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum International Programs Division in Sep. 2012.
