Photographic image; black and white image of Lolek Szwarcman and his wife, Nadia Munwer Szwarcman, donor's maternal uncle, standing outside in snow (Leon Lolek Szwarcman graduated from medical school in Brno, Czechoslowakia in 1937; he tried without success to certify his diploma in Vilna; in 1939 his diploma was recognized by the Soviets and he was permitted to practice medicine; in 1941 he was mobilized into the Soviet Army and in 1944 he returned to Pińsk only to find out that his wife, Nadia, and their daughter, Sofia, perished; he remained in USSR without much contact with his surviving family; he died in 1963 in Lugansk, USSR); dated: 1938; location: Pińsk, Poland
