Scope and Content

Consists of one posed photograph of a large group of men living in the Asmara detention camp in Eritrea, circa 1945. The photograph depicts the flag of Israel and a sign which reads, in Hebrew, "Zion's Exiles in Asmara." Related to this is a small piece of grey cloth stamped with a Hebrew mark reading "Jabotinsky Day in Asmara Exile, 29 Tamuz 1946" commemorating the sixth anniversary of Jabotinsky's death (2011.418.4.2), which is cataloged separately.
