Acquisition

Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.

Source of acquisition is the Instytut Pamięci Narodowej-Komisja Ścigania Zbrodni przeciwko Narodowi Polskiemu, Poland, Sygn. GK 166. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the collection from the IPN via the United States Holocaust Museum International Archives Project in July 2012.

Scope and Content

List of 4,560 individuals, persons deported from Germany to Poland through the camp in Zbąszyń, Poland. This “List of Jews Deported from Zbąszyń” in 1938 includes: first and last names (and maiden names), parents’ names, mother’s maiden name; date, place, and country of birth; confession, marital status, current address, military service (including rank), occupation, and degree of mastery of Polish; place and date of passport issue, issuing authority, and passport series and number.

System of Arrangement

Arranged alphabetically in 228 lists. Records are arranged in the original order of their acquisition from the source archive. The museum has acquired only selected records from Institute of National Remembrance (Instytut Pamięci Narodowej-Komisja Ścigania Zbrodni przeciwko Narodowi Polskiemu, or IPN).
