Acquisition

Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.

Source of acquisition is the Arhivele Naţionale ale României (National Archives of Romania), Sălaj Branch; Inventory: Fond Primăria Jibou, Inv. 93, and Fond Comitetul Democratic Evreiesc al judeţului Sălaj, Inv. 574. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the filmed collection from the Romanian National Archives via the United States Holocaust Museum International Archives Project in April 2012, and additional files in March 2014.

Scope and Content

This collection contains selected records of the Mayorship of Jibou. Includes papers of the Jewish community of Jibou, records relating to the citizenship of Jews and the Jewish Democratic Committee of Sălaj District including name lists and various activity reports.

System of Arrangement

Arrangement is thematic. Organized in the following order: Reel 1-2, Fond Primăria Jibou. Inv. 93, and Reel 3, Fond Comitetul Democratic Evreiesc al judeţului Sălaj. 1948-1950. Inv. 574.
