Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
Medal; metal, oval-shaped medal with brown and white ribbon; medal has eagle with wings spread, perched on wreath around a swastika; under swastika has a sword crossed with a shovel over the corner of a wall; two feathers at very bottom; reverse reads "FUR / ARBEIT / ZUM / SCHUTZE / DEUTSCH / LANDS"; the edge of both sides has a wreath pattern; loop at top, with hoop through loop; brown ribbon with two white stripes on either side folded in half, threaded through loop; edges not sewn together.
