Acquisition

Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.

Source of acquisition is the Arhivele Naţionale ale României (Romanian National Archives), Mehedinţi branch, Fond Primăria oraşului Orşova, 1913-1989, Inv. 75. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the collection from the Romanian State Archives, via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s International Archives Project in January 2011.

Scope and Content

Contains records from Orsova, consisting of records related to requests and changes of citizenship, firing of Jews, expropriation of Jewish properties -- including orders and lists of names.
