Scope and Content

Collection of documents, correspondence, photographs, autograph books, notebooks, clippings, writings, envelopes, certificates, and other materials that document the experiences of Alice Ebserstark (donor) and her family during theHolocaust. Alice and her sisters Josephine and Ellie were sent on the Kindertransport from Czechoslovakia to England on transports arranged by Sir Nicholas Winton. Also includes documents and information on the German Army collected by Peter Masters (donor’s husband) when he served in the Auxiliary Military Pioneer Corps in the UK and 3rd Troop 10th Commando in France and Germany, including detailed descriptions of German uniforms, insignia, weapons, and tanks, written and illustrated in English.
