Scope and Content

Documents and photograph illustrating the experiences of Bruno and Frieda Einstein and their son, David [Dieter], who fled Fellheim, Germany in 1939 via Genoa, Italy aboard the Saturnia. Included in the documents are “sanitary” cards for the Einstein family, affidavit of support for the family provided by James and Frieda Jeffries [Bruno’s aunt], inventory for the family’s lift and inventory for hand luggage of “Bruno Jsrael [sic] and Frida [sic] Sara Einstein mit Kind” dated July 31, 1939. Also included is a photograph taken aboard the Saturnia, dated circa November 1939.
